HEATHROW CAR PARKING
Heathrow car parking has increased substantially over the last 10 years,
and when Terminal 5 comes online next year heathrow
car parking will
be in further demand.
It was rumoured recently that the Lord Mayor of London proposed to put
a tax on heathrow car parking similar to the London
congestion charge,
however it is understood that BAA would oppose such a tax on heathrow
car parking as
heathrow car parking provides a valuable income for Heathrow.
However, with the demand for more environmentally friendly solutions
such as greater use of public transport etc. then heathrow
car
parking could again become an issue with a possibly a limit being placed
on the number of vehicles which could use heathrow
car parking.
Also it is proposed eventually to build a new runway and terminal buildings
north of the A4 complete with car parking facilities which
again would
increase the pressure on the heathrow car parking issue
